Waitakere Park

During the week of September 18th - 22nd, the Area Office did service around Auckland.  We were to choose one day of the week with a certain location.  We served on September 19th at the Salvation Army in Glenfield.  We went with another senior couple, Elder & Sister Bills, and Alan from the Office.  We were asked to clean out 2 sheds, sweep, spray, and then reorganize the food pallets.  The Salvation Army were making preparations for more food donations to come in for the holidays.

On Saturday we went out exploring for the very first time.  Elder & Sister Andersen invited us to go out to Piha to Waitakere Rangers Regional Park. We had a wonderful experience.  It was so beautiful and we had a great time with the Andersen's.  We are so appreciative of them and their invitation to join them!
Holbrook's and Andersen's

Inside the visitors center there was an art display.  The art was intricately and delicately cut from paper in silhouettes.  Then lights were place behind the artwork to accentuate the details.

We hiked to "Kitekite" Falls.  They were so beautiful

We saw some beautiful trees and flowers on our hike.

We then went to a beach called "Lion's Head." It is shaped like a lion.
The beach also has black sand.

We enjoyed a delightful pizza for lunch in Piha!
