South Island - Hokitika

We went to the South Island during the Holiday
We flew into Hokitika and had to wait 6 hours for the Intercity bus to Franz Josef
The clock tower at the center of town
The Carnegie Museum
This is what Greenstone looks like before cut open
Green Stone is heavily found in this area. These are pieces in the museum.

 Museum display items
 Flowers are always in bloom
 The beach at Hokitika

A church that has been closed due to seismic requirements
We made it to Franz Josef for the Glaciers
(pronounced glass iers here)
The Glaciers are somewhere behind those heavy rain clouds!
We stayed at the "Gloworm" Backpackers Motel.
Our bathroom was small like our old motorhome.
Decorations in our room
The room was small and cozy

Well, it rained day and night grounding all of the helicopters
We were unable to do our glacier helicopter tour
We never saw the glaciers with all of the heavy rain clouds
 We visited a local museum
Bryce was able to climb their glacier 😂 What a good sport!

We went on the Intercity bus to Greymouth
From Greymouth to Christchurch on the TranzAlpine Railway
 It did not stop raining
The views were still beautiful and amazing
