Christchurch

Christchurch is a wonderful experience

Christchurch had a major earthquake in 2010 and are still trying to recover

This church suffered extensive damage. The church and city are not in agreement

as to how to fix it, so it has sat for 8 years feeling the weather.

 The view from our room window. The construction site felt the effects of the heavy rain.

 One of the most poignant and humbling experience was this artist's exhibit.

There are 185 chairs representing the number of people killed in the earthquake.

 This is a piece of art at a bridge donated from the actual beams of the "Twin Towers"

We went on a city tour

We went to the Antarctic Center in Christchurch

 Where we fell in love with the "Little Penguin" - the Blue Penguin

We went on a ride on the "Haglund"

 We experienced the Polar Freeze

We went "Punting" Tour

 These "Lime Scooters" are everywhere for rent

$10.00 for using it and then 15 cents per minute there after

Bryce just stood by it!

Next stop was at the Botanical Gardens
