October 23rd was Labor Day in New Zealand. We were able to enjoy many Cultural Experiences this weekend. The flowers are so beautiful here. I love the Birds of Paradise!
Friday morning we went with some of the Seniors to a famous woodcarver, Jarias.
He is a Christian Palestinian from Bethlehem.
He has a big yard with a beautiful driveway, flowers, and sheep.
This is a fruit tree in their yard. The fruit is small and has 4-5 large seeds inside.
This is Jarias' wife. Just before we left, she served us juice and fruitcake!
Pictures taken by previous missionaries.
His Store
His "Last Supper" is intricate and gorgeous!
in our apartment!
Saturday we had a Senior Missionary outing. We traveled north for approximately one hour to Sandspit to board the Kawau Royal Mail Pouch Run. Kawau Ferry delivers mail and people to Kawau Island. We ate the BBQ luncheon onboard. It consisted of either Salmon or Steak, a green salad and a roll.
We did not plan the Stripes :) Our Senior Group
